During our Webinar, entitled “New York’s Reforming the Energy Vision (REV) Update and Insight” held on Thursday, November 13 at 2pm ET, we heard from two speakers who have been plugged into the REV process from the beginning.

Webinar Description:    

In April 2014, New York State commenced an ambitious initiative to reform the state’s energy industry practices and regulatory models. Called Reforming the Energy Vision (REV), it is intended to “promote more efficient use of energy, deeper penetration of renewable energy resources…deployment of ‘distributed’ energy resources…and promote greater use of advanced energy management products.” It is perhaps best known for its objective of developing new distribution platforms to act as hubs for DER, customer choice, and grid optimization.

REV is being discussed nationally as one of the most ambitious, forward-looking developments occurring anywhere in the electricity sector. REV is also an intense, multi-faceted process that is fast-moving, and challenging to monitor.

This webinar provided an update on what has happened in the REV process to date, and what the next steps are. Our speakers have each been involved in REV and provided an overview and added their thoughts about any interesting developments that have happened or are around the corner.
